AMAZING WHAT 5 MILES CAN DO!

Written By: Scott Hetsko

Why so often do forecasters mention "North and along Route 104"? Snow over the weekend ranged between 1-2 feet in Wayne County North of 104. Generally 8-12" fell within 3 miles of the lake in Monroe County. Meanwhile most other areas report 4-7" at most over the weekend. So if you think lake effect snow forecasting is easy, then walk a mile in our shoes! Thanks to everyone who has reported snow amounts into our office, keep them coming!

  1. check out Marion in Wayne County - south of 104! We have WELL OVER a foot and a 1/2 of snow!

  2. It is interesting that the Buffalo airport picked up more snow from this event then the Rochester airport. Over 10 inches at Buffalo and only 6.7 at Rochester.
