SUNSHINE RETURNS, STORM STAYS SOUTH

Written by: Brian Neudorff

As Scott pointed out on Tuesday, a strong area of strong high pressure will continue to move through our region and provide sunny skies across Western New York. Temperatures over the next couple of day will be colder at night with temperatures falling into the upper teens at times now through Saturday morning, as high reach the mid to upper 30s. Gray overcast skies and Rochester go hand and hand during the winter months so take advantage of the bright weather while you can.

This area of high pressure will also act as a shield, deflecting the next storm to our south. It is possible that some of the clouds could sneak into the extreme part of Southern New York, but other than that, the wintry mix and rain associated with the storm system currently moving through the Tennessee Valley will stay to our south.

Unfortunatly the nice weather doesn't continue through the weekend. Gulf moisture associated with the next storm will stream in on Sunday. Clouds will increase along with milder temperatures and some rain showers late Sunday into Monday.

  1. Seven feet of snow possible in Flagstaff, AZ. Wow! We've been spectators of the big snow all winter long. Hopefully things turn around in the second half.
