LIGHT SNOW, FOR WEDNESDAY, COUPLE OF INCHES

Note: Updated amounts pushing some of the lines north in the east. (8:15am)

Written by: Brian Neudorff

This morning we are seeing the energy from the parent storm that was over eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania transfer it's energy to a new storm off the Delmarva coast.

Most of the snow stays south of Rochester into the Southern Tier. After making this map I am thinking the 3 to 6 inch line could have gone a little farther north near Penn Yan. The rest of the thinking is still in line with what we have been talking about since Monday.

This map represents snow from now until this evening around 6pm. Not major amounts, but we will see light snow so give yourself some time out on the roads. Also if you are planning on flying out of Rochester today I'd call ahead. Not because of weather bad here but because of the snow and winds expected from D.C. to NYC. So hubs like Newark, LGA and PHL will be seeing delays and cancelations.

As for tonight, most of the snow from this storm will start to diminish later this evening then colder air will filter south. We will see some light lake effect with 1 to 3 inches likely by Thursday midday. Rochester could see a total of 5 inches when all is said and done.
