WEDNESDAY NOW THE FOCUS

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

First and foremost, I want to address our blog commenter that mentioned that some areas south would have more snow that Rochester. While it is true now, I still think it would be a hard feat to accomplish. Obviously not impossible, but it would be a pretty historic event. Right now Rochester stands at just over 63" whereas Dulles has 74". Believe it or not, that gap will widen with this next storm!

Included in this post are the GFS and NAM outputs for Wednesday morning.

Notice the trend to bring the heavier snow (energy) southeast of us, right in that Delmarva area once again. I think we certainly have a good shot at seeing a few inches, probably even some plowable amounts, but the bulk of the snow will (wait for me to beat the dead horse) miss us again. Lake effect potential exists behind the storm for the late week as well. The trends have been more and more south and east over the course of the last few runs. Same old story for this winter.

  2. No more whining, just aceptance that we will miss all the storms this year, like we did last year and the year before and the year before and the year before.

  3. The gap will widen and widen and with no storms in our future they have a great shot at beating us. They will beat us with synoptic events- 4-0.
