THE DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES
Written by: Bob Metcalfe
Here's a 24-hour fresher look at the same time as the last post, 1pm on Saturday. I mentioned the possibility of cold, which is still there, but now we're delaying it a bit. This means two things:
1- Obviously extended good weather
2- More opportunity to make it warmer.
In fact, I think that 60 is very well in the cards for the first day of Spring (next Saturday.) Now granted the sunshine won't be amazing by any means, but the warm will be a great and fitting way to welcome the new season.
If you are to move further beyond this point in time, the cold still looks inevitable. However, high pressure is associated with this cold feature, which could make it much more difficult to squeeze any measurable snow out of it this time. And its fairly safe to say that once the cold burst is past, the snow chances really dwindle.
As far as certainty goes, the GFS and Euro are in surprisingly good agreement about the setup late this week, so do expect more warm air! Just remember that it's always warmest before a cold front...
