THE LAST FROST DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE!

Written By: Scott Hetsko

I've been getting a few calls in the weather center asking about when the last frost is likely to occur. This map gives only a general idea of when you can expect the last frost in your area. The warming effect of Lake Ontario means the earliest end to frost season for most of Monroe and Wayne Counties.

Further South, frost season is often 2-3 weeks longer than lakeside towns. In sheltered valleys in the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier, we've seen frost in the first week of June! Remember that microclimates play a HUGE roll as to when the final frost will occur.

  1. Scott,
Any changes in the strength or timing of the big warmup?
