ROCHESTER'S MOST ACCURATE FORECAST
Written By: Scott Hetsko
What does it mean to be most accurate? Well an independent, nationally recognized research company rated WROC/FOX Rochester most accurate following it's latest rating period. Throughout the past year, every forecast from each television station was compared to actual observations recorded in Rochester. Like golf, the lower the score the better we did. We are proud to say that in the past year we had the lowest score ever recorded for the Rochester market!
If you are curious about how exactly this company keeps track and grades our forecast, follow the link below. We are working hard everyday to keep that title in the years to come!
HOW THE SCORING WORKS
Congratulations to the entire team. You guys should be very proud!
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all surprised. You all kicked butt on that February snowstorm. Did a heck of a lot better than the National Weather Service themselves on that one!
ReplyDeleteScott, can you give a preliminary thought on the weather for Red Wingds opening day next Saturday. I know it is early, but I wanted to hear your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteScott,
ReplyDeleteIs this purely rain cooled air we're experiencing right now, or has the warm front sagged back to our south again?
Also, I see the GFS and NAM have the 10c line bumping back toward us very briefly later tonight / early tomorrow. Does that mean the temps will hold steady or even rise through the 60's again before daybreak?
Honestly way too early for next Saturday but I will say that it shouldn't be too cold. As for this afternoon, rain cooled air is correct. The front is still to our West so we have the potential to see 60s again tonight and early Thursday before the cold front passes through. Rain may be heavy tomorrow evening.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Channel 8 / Fox team. You guys are certainly doing something right. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteScott you are my hero. I love you.
