WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT?
Written by: Brian Neudorff
A new week is here, the weather continues to be nice and quiet. You can look back one post to see my post from yesterday evening, I don't expect much to change from that. Because we will be experiencing some quiet weather over the next few days I figured I would ask all of you, our loyal readers and maybe even some new readers to our blog, what would you like to talk about? What topics would you like the News 8 Weather Team to discuss over the next couple of days?
Leave your comments, ideas and topics below. We probably won't answer them today but we will look back and use them for blog topics for later on this week and maybe a few in the weeks to come.
I went to Highland Park yesterday to see how far evolved the lilacs and overall vegetation is up there, and I was amazed how far along everything is. The trees are flowering, the bushes are green with all out leaves, and everything is generally bursting with life.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this soooo early in the season. I was wondering what our current growing season stage right now would compare to somewhere else in a typical year. Is our level of vegetation on April 12 more akin to Maryland or Virginia on this date?
I honestly don't know. The NWS in their discussion mentioned that it seemed like the growing season was 2 weeks ahead of schedule but I don't know what is typical for those southern locations to say that yes we are more on par with such and such location.
ReplyDeleteBut compared to our normal growing season per the National Weather Service we are about 2 weeks ahead of average growing season. -Brian
Is there any risk of a hard freeze in the immediate Rochester area?

ReplyDeleteNo hard freeze expected this week in Rochester but frost and freeze possible South especially Wednesday a.m. As for the summer weather outlook, look for it May 8th during our latest severe weather special!
ReplyDeleteI want our 70's and 80's back. Any sign in the long range that we'll pop back into that glorious warm ridge again?
