BACK DOOR COOL DOWN LATE WEEK
Written By: Scott Hetsko
The apex of our warm air will be Wednesday afternoon with several areas from Rochester and Southeast getting close to 90 degrees. The record at the airport is 90 set in 1944, we'll get close to that value. The map shows our setup Thursday night into Friday morning.
Notice that the cooler air is coming from the Northeast. 95% of our cold fronts arrive from the West or Northwest. This "Back Door" front will spark some afternoon and evening showers and storms Thursday. Cooler and less humid air will arrive on Friday setting the table for what looks like a sunny and less humid Memorial Day weekend!
That's what she said...
