May Feel Returns!

Written by John DiPasquale:

Mid to late spring weather returns for today & Friday before we revert back to late March & April readings.  Precipitation wise, it appears that it will stay mainly dry with just a 20 to 30% chance of a shower/storm late today/early tonight with a weakening cold front.

Tonight for the most part will be quiet under some clouds with milder temperatures.  Lows will drop to near 50.

On Friday, late today's cold front will move back through as a warm front during the morning with a shower/storm possible.  Behind the warm front it will be breezy & warm with highs well into the 70s!

Late Friday night the cold front will move through with some showers & a few storms, which will lead to some much colder air for the weekend into early next week.  The big change for the weekend is it now looks like the front & developing storm moving up along the front will be further east than thought the last couple of days.  For this reason, we now believe at least some breaks of sun will appear later Saturday, & a good deal of sun could very well shine Sunday, possibly into early next week.  The amount of sun will depend on the eastward progression of the front & the exact track of the coastal storm Sunday into early next week.  Right now, though, most if not all of the precipitation look to be too far east to impact us much.  However, it will be blustery & unseasonably chilly for much of the weekend into the first part of next week regardless of the precipitation affecting us to end the weekend & start next week.

Have a great day & stay tuned to the changeable Sunday through Tuesday forecast.

  1. That is good news. I do not want rain. We are ok for now. We can make up the 2.5 inches in one thunderstorm in July and August. It always evens out.

  2. Will the weather be nice for the Wings game on Friday night?

  3. Hi Anonymous,

The weather will be very pleasant for the wings game this evening, with temps in the 60s & low 70s with a breeze & just a slight risk for an isolated shower/storm, but it should be mainly, if not totally dry through the game. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, the weekend looks wetter now than it did yesterday, as models have converged on wetter solution thanks to slower front & storm progression this weekend into next week. More details to come in another blog later this morning.
