Milder Today, but Colder Tomorrow

Written by John DiPasquale:

It was a frosty start to Tuesday, but will end up being the mildest day of the week with highs ranging from 55 to 60, which is pretty nice for early April. We will have more in the way of clouds in the sky for the afternoon, but there should still be peeks/intervals of sun from time to time.

Meanwhile, a cold front swinging through the Western & Central Great Lakes today will make it's way through the region late tonight/early Wednesday with a spotty shower possible, but most will stay dry through the night. Lows tonight will be around 40, so no frost to worry about anyways.

On Wednesday, the air will turn colder with an increasing northwest wind, especially during the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 50s during the midday, before falling back into the 40s later in the afternoon into the evening. There may even be a rain/snow shower later in the day, as an upper air disturbance moves in from the north.

Another slight risk for a snow/rain shower will be with us Wednesday night through midday Thursday, but most should remain dry through the period. Now frost/freeze concerns will be exist, probably not so much Wednesday night due to some clouds & the winds, but Thursday night & Friday night will probably both be frosty thanks to a mainly clear sky evolving & less wind. Lows will be in the 30s Wednesday night, but should tumble into the mid 20s to low 30s Thursday & Friday nights. Take note again farmers. The busy times continue thanks to the crazy early warmth we had in March.

The weather will turn very nice looking on Friday after some extra clouds Thursday. So yes, Good Friday will look nice, but there will be a seasonable chill, despite the abundant sun. On Saturday, the Red Wings open the season & right now it looks awesome with tons of sun & temperatures well into the 50s! Easter Sunday at this point looks ok, but there may be a few showers developing during the afternoon with highs in the 50s again. It will probably turn much colder again for much of next week the way it looks now.

Have a great day & enjoy the milder air today WNY!
