Protect the Plants...Again

What should be unusual has now become the norm. Another Freeze Warning has been posted for the entire viewing area for early Friday morning.
Sub-freezing temperatures aren't uncommon for early April. In fact, our last frost doesn't typically happen until May for many spots away from the lakeshore. But, our record warmth in March caused the growing season to get a jump start this year, causing issues when our temperatures fall to where they should be (33 to start the day).
A clearing sky and chilly Canadian airmass will allow temperatures to fall into the upper 20s to near 30 degrees away from the immediate Lake Ontario shoreline tonight. In fact, we will likely start the day at or below freezing for the next few days, and then likely again next week. Bring out the blanket for yourself, and your "tender vegetation!"
Hi Weather 8 Team - can you explain what the MJO is and what effect a change in this pattern is having on our weather at this point. I heard that it is shifting/changing and leading us into more cooler weather next week.

I'd like to know more about it as well. I know there are different phases of the MJO but don't know much more about it.
