Not as Warm, but Still Warm

Written by John DiPasquale:

After a very foggy start, today will turn out to be a decent day with some hazy sun, especially south through early afternoon, before a few scattered showers & storms try to pop up & drift in from the west along/nearby a warm/stationary front hanging out close by.  Any storm that does move through later today will also have the potential to be strong to severe with large hail & damaging wind gusts.  Highs today should make the mid to upper 70s here in Rochester, but 80+ is still possible to the south, while cooler 60s & low 70s will be felt north, especially lakeside.  Today & Friday will not be as warm as we thought it might be a day or two ago, because the northward progression of the warm front is not as far north like originally thought.  So instead of 80 to 85, temps for most today & tomorrow will be mainly in the 70s with higher levels of humidity.

More numerous showers & storms will likely move through later tonight into Friday, as the result of an area of low pressure & strong cold front moving in & through later Friday/early Friday night.  Again, there's the potential for any storm that moves through tonight or Friday to become strong to severe.  Stay tuned.

Friday night into the weekend will most likely turn drier & cooler with some sun developing Saturday & a lot of sunshine expected come Sunday.  A brisk breeze will blow out of the north-northeast through much of the weekend ushering in the cooler 60 something degree air.

A storm may make things unsettled again by Monday night & beyond next week, but still plenty of time for that to change.  Keep it here & we'll update you on the latest.

Have a nice day & enjoy the warmer temps, at least for most of us!
