Not a Bad Start to the Week

Written by John DiPasquale:

Band of rain/showers to the south & east will essentially stay there through Tuesday, but there could be a few widely scattered showers/storm popping up this afternoon & early evening & again Tuesday afternoon mainly just across the Finger Lakes.  We will also see some sun both today, & especially Tuesday across the region, especially Rochester area points west.

The culprit for the aforementioned rains/showers south & east over the next couple of days will be a stationary front acting like train tracks for an area of low pressure moving up from the South.  Again we will be mainly spectators for these heavier rains expected over the eastern half of the state late today through Tuesday, but a cold front will dive through the region Wednesday with a few showers & storms possible for all.  Behind the front, it will turn much cooler to finish Wednesday into Thursday, as a cool area of high pressure builds in.  However, it should warm up nicely with a decent amount of sun to boot starting Friday, & especially over the upcoming weekend, as high pressure slides off to the east come the weekend.  Yes, it could very well feel like summer by Saturday & Sunday with highs possibly pushing well into the 70s Saturday & into the 80s Sunday!

Have a great start to your week everyone!
