Cool Today, but Not by Week's End
Written by John DiPasquale:
Today will be the coolest day of the week, & the coolest day since June 13th as highs will likely fall short of 70! There will also likely be a few scattered showers & storms popping up later this afternoon & evening thanks to cold air aloft & some upper level energy. So if you have plans to be out & about, you will want to have a light jacket, & probably even the umbrella just to be on safe side.
Your Tuesday will likely feature more rays of sun, but still the small threat for a couple of showers & storms popping up for the afternoon, mainly east across the Finger Lakes. High pressure west will slowly begin nudging in more so, as the upper level & surface storm across New England ever so slowly weaken & depart during the middle of the week. This should ultimately lead to a very nice day Wednesday with some sun & warmer temperatures just as the graphic above displays. There will be a persistent gusty cool wind blowing Tuesday with it beginning to ease somewhat Wednesday & more so by Thursday.
On Thursday a warm front will drift through with maybe an odd storm or two, but at this time it looks pretty dry & warm Thursday with highs getting well into the 80s, while Friday could be up near 90! It should turn a little more comfortable over the weekend. Stay tuned to News 8 through the week for the latest.
Have a great day WNY!
