Heating Up

Today will be the most comfortable day we feel around here until early next week, as some intense heat building across the Plains & front range of the Rockies spreads east over the next few days.  The good news for us is that the core of the heat will stay just off to the south of the state, but even with that said we will manage to climb well into the 80s to around 90 for Thursday (tomorrow) through much of the weekend!  A warm front should cross the area pretty quietly Thursday with some clouds & possibly an isolated storm or two later in the day, but that's about it. 

Thursday night & very early Friday will likely feature a few showers & storms with a trough/weak cold front that will not really cool the temps, but dry out the air.  So the humidity that builds in Thursday, should get quickly snuffed out later Thursday night/early Friday.  In the wake of this front/trough it will become mostly sunny, windy & very warm to hot, but not too bad on the discomfort meter thanks to lower humidity levels & the gusty winds. 

The weekend will turn a bit more humid Saturday, & much muggier Sunday with just a slight risk for a passing, pop up storm Saturday, & a greater likelihood of scattered storms to end the weekend with a cold front.  Highs Saturday will range from 85 to 90, while more clouds & scattered showers & storms will likely keep the temps in check Sunday in the mid 80s.

Behind the cold front Sunday/Sunday night, it should turn pretty pleasant to start next week leading up to the holiday.  The latest data, though, is suggesting a secondary cool front/trough may keep the threat of a few scattered showers & storms going to begin next week.  Temperatures should remain in the 80s through the holiday, if not all of next week, which is great news if you own a pool!  Enjoy!
