Sun & More Comfortable Thursday

Written by John DiPasquale:

After a hot & steamy 4th, it will turn not cool, but cooler & much less humid & gorgeous for our Thursday in the wake of a cold front tonight.  There may be a storm or two popping up later this afternoon into the evening, but for the most part we should be dry for the remainder of the holiday.  Just keep an eye to the sky if you have outdoor plans right into this evening.  Highs this afternoon should make it into the low 90s with a heat index ranging from 95 to 100!  Do what you can to stay cool & hydrated out there today!

We will be back into the mid 80s for our Thursday under lots of blue sky & sun, but come Friday more heat & humidity will sneak back in making for an uncomfortable finish to the week & start to the weekend, as highs get back into the 90s Friday, & near 90 Saturday.

Friday will be mainly dry with just a slight risk for a storm late under a good deal of sun, while more clouds should enter the area during the day Saturday with a better chance of a few scattered storms, a couple of which could turn strong to severe.  Once a strong cold front moves by Saturday night, it will turn refreshingly cooler & less humid for the end of our weekend with highs dipping back into the 70s to near 80 accompanied by a nice breeze under more sun!

At this point it looks like it will stay nice n' comfortably cool/mild for at least the early to mid part of next week too, so if you don't like this heat & humidity you are likely going to love the end of the weekend through at least the middle part of next week.  Stay tuned to News 8 for updates on the eventual cool down.

Have a nice 4th WNY!

  2. Take the storm chance out of the forecast. It is not going to happen.
The same for Saturday. It will dry out before it goes through Rochester.
