Very Cool Changes on the Way

Written by John DiPasquale:

Steady soaking rains this morning have tapered to a few scattered showers early this afternoon, but the mild, muggy air mass out there now will be replaced by a much cooler & drier air mass later tonight into Wednesday when a cold front sweeps through later this afternoon & early this evening.  The line of showers/storm to the west as of this typing b/w 1 & 2 this afternoon over Lake Erie will deliver the much cooler air mass tonight into Wednesday, which is displayed quite nicely in the above pic.  Temperatures across the Chicago area to International Falls are in the 50s to around 60, which is basically what we will feel with some sun on our Wednesday!  Yes, have the jackets ready for tonight through the start of Thursday!

Later Thursday on the backside of high pressure we will warm back to around 70, if not a bit higher with some sun, & a warming breeze.  Friday will be mild, as highs get solidly into the 70s, before the front swings through first thing Saturday with some showers/storm & drops temperatures back into the 50s later Saturday & into the first full day of Autumn, which begins @ 10:49 a.m. Saturday.  We will probably even have a few lake showers on Sunday.  How appropriate.  Stay tuned.

Have a great afternoon everyone!
