The Rest of the Week Looks Pretty Good

Written by John DiPasquale:

Mother Nature has my vote today!  Finally the sun has returned on this Election Day after not really showing it's face over the last 10 days or so!!  Temperatures will remain chilly today, right through Thursday, before a more seasonable air mass develops for Friday & Saturday with readings likely cracking 50.  Later in the holiday weekend, it will likely get downright balmy with highs climbing well into the 60s to maybe even around 70 thanks to a gusty south-southwest flow!!  Something to look forward to for sure, after the unseasonably chilly, gray & somewhat unsettled stretch we've endured lately!

In the more immediate future, the nor'easter riding up the coast Wednesday into Thursday will go wide right of our area, and affect Eastern New York, NYC, Long Island, Jersey & New England.  The latest guidance is suggesting some accumulating wet snow for the just mentioned areas, which may lead to some additional power outages due to the heavy wet nature of the snow expected developing tomorrow & then likely changing to a chilly rain & drizzle with gusty winds Wednesday night & lingering into Thursday.  Tough set up for all trying to clean up down in Jersey, NYC, L.I. & Southern Conn..  All we will feel from it is a little wind, & maybe some clouds from time to time.  The snow & rain line may reach as far west as the Mohawk Valley, & foothills to the Catskills.

Have a great day, & enjoy the SUN WNY!!  Remember to get out & vote!

  1. Unless you are hoping for snow, you deserve this. Lol. Looks like a few weeks of "blah" for winter folks.

  2. I will take no snow for now. Spending time with our new baby girl Leah is much better than plowing snow. If we could get to Dec before major snow that will be fine by me. If hits 70 by sunday Leah may be able to enjoy some fresh outside air with a small walk at park, that would be GREAT.

  3. Hoping for another one like last year. Fat chance.
