Cool, Dry & Plesant to Start the First Work Week of June

Written by John DiPasquale:

If you didn't like the heat & humidity of this past weekend & last week you are loving the new Canadian air mass right now!  A strong cold front blew through yesterday afternoon & has left us with this cool, dry air mass.  Highs will be several degrees below average today & Tuesday, before warming to more seasonable levels on Wednesday with some more sun.

Late Wednesday night into Thursday, an inverted trough/warm front is looking more & more likely to set up nearby which could result in some significant rains building in for Thursday our way, & it may persist into Friday &/or Saturday.  The amount & duration of the rains will all depend on where the front/trough sets up.  A hundred or two hundred miles one way or the other will significantly impact the amount & duration of the rain we see.  Temperatures will likely be within a few degrees of 70.  Stay tuned for updates on the potential rains on Thursday, which is not good news for the opening round of the LPGA.

Have a great day everyone!

  2. We really do need some extended dry time, there's still some spotty ponding in my neighborhood and we've been dry since the weekend. At least we won't be dealing with stifling heat/humidity anytime soon.

  3. Yeah. This rain is getting ridiculous. We could not get a storm to come up the east coast all winter and here we are with a storm coming up the east coast and hitting us during the summer.

  4. To be fair, this one isn't actually coming up the coast at all. It's coming out of the Midwest. I see your main point though, and yeah it's a bit asinine that we couldn't catch a break during the winter and now, when we DON'T want to be in the bullseye, we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of it. Mother Nature is truly a b#%ch sometimes, but oh well there's nothing we can do about it.

  6. Hey, on the bright side, while we've had above average rain for May and June, we've also had some excellent above average weather.

  7. I refuse to turn on my heat on June 6th. This is ridiculous.
